Global Supply Chains Embrace Digital & Green Shifts, Report Reveals

The global supply chain landscape is undergoing a transformative shift driven by technological innovation and sustainability efforts, according to the Global Supply Chain Promotion Report 2025 released Wednesday at the 3rd China International Supply Chain Expo (CISCE). The report, published by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), identifies artificial intelligence and carbon reduction technologies as key forces reshaping international trade networks.

"We're witnessing a dual acceleration," said CCPIT spokesperson Zhao Ping during the expo's opening ceremony. "While AI and blockchain are optimizing logistics efficiency, green technologies like carbon capture systems are becoming mainstream solutions for environmentally conscious manufacturing."

The findings come as businesses worldwide adapt to new geopolitical realities and climate commitments. The report's index matrix shows a 22% year-on-year increase in digital supply chain integrations across Asia, with renewable energy projects accounting for 38% of new infrastructure investments in developing economies.

Analysts suggest these trends create opportunities for cross-border collaboration, particularly in Southeast Asia's emerging tech hubs and the Chinese mainland's green industrial parks. The expo itself attracted over 5,000 enterprises from 55 countries and regions, reflecting growing interest in resilient, tech-driven supply solutions.
