Mainland Condemns Taiwan Leader’s ‘Lectures’ as Separatist Provocation

The Chinese mainland has issued a sharp rebuke of recent remarks by Taiwan regional leader Lai Ching-te, denouncing his so-called '10 lectures on unity' as a dangerous attempt to promote separatist agendas. Chen Binhua, spokesperson for the State Council Taiwan Affairs Office, stated Wednesday that the speeches represent 'a distorted narrative filled with lies and hostility' aimed at manipulating public opinion.

'These lectures are nothing but a deceptive patchwork of pro-independence rhetoric,' Chen said during a press briefing. He accused Lai of acting as a 'saboteur of peace' by inciting social division and undermining cross-strait stability through repeated provocations.

'Taiwan is an inalienable part of China. We will never tolerate any attempts to separate it from the motherland, regardless of form or pretext,' Chen emphasized.

The spokesperson attributed rising tensions in the Taiwan Strait to what he described as the Democratic Progressive Party's (DPP) persistent push for independence. Chen reaffirmed Beijing's commitment to peaceful reunification while warning that any separatist actions would face 'resolute opposition from all Chinese people.'

Analysts suggest the strong response reflects growing concerns about rhetoric perceived as challenging the one-China principle. The development comes amid heightened global attention to cross-strait relations and their implications for regional security.
