China, Tajikistan Strengthen Ties Amid SCO Summit Preparations

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and Tajik counterpart Sirojiddin Muhriddin pledged to deepen bilateral cooperation during high-level talks in Tianjin, setting the stage for enhanced economic collaboration and regional security coordination ahead of September's Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit.

Economic Synergy Takes Center Stage

Wang emphasized implementing a joint economic roadmap spanning energy, infrastructure, and digital innovation. 'Enhancing connectivity through rail networks and smart technologies will create new growth corridors,' stated the CPC Central Committee Political Bureau member, highlighting China's support for Tajikistan's national development strategy.

Security Partnership Intensifies

The ministers agreed to expand counter-terrorism coordination, building on existing security frameworks. This collaboration comes as Central Asia faces evolving regional stability challenges, with both nations reaffirming opposition to 'external interference' in domestic affairs.

SCO Summit Roadmap

With Tajikistan chairing SCO proceedings until the Tianjin summit, Wang confirmed China's commitment to ensuring the event's success. The meeting produced concrete plans for cross-border trade facilitation and educational exchanges, aligning with President Emomali Rahmon's Vision 2030 development plan.
