China, Malta Strengthen Diplomatic Ties in Beijing Talks

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with Malta's Deputy Prime Minister Ian Borg in Beijing on Monday, signaling strengthened cooperation between the two nations. The high-level discussions focused on economic partnerships, cultural exchanges, and multilateral diplomacy amid evolving global challenges.

Wang, a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, emphasized China's commitment to 'mutually beneficial collaboration' with Mediterranean nations. Borg highlighted Malta's strategic position as a bridge between Europe and North Africa, noting opportunities in sustainable tourism and green energy development.

The talks concluded with agreements to enhance people-to-people exchanges and coordinate on international platforms like the United Nations. Both sides reaffirmed support for multilateral trade systems and peaceful conflict resolution mechanisms.
