Chengdu World Games 2025 Unveils Cultural Award Ceremony Designs

Organizers of the 2025 Chengdu World Games revealed striking new award ceremony materials on Tuesday, showcasing a vibrant fusion of Sichuan's cultural heritage and contemporary sporting spirit. The designs feature traditional craftsmanship and symbolic motifs that pay homage to the host region's identity.

Central to the collection are the 'Shu Bao' and 'Jin Zai' mascots dressed in elaborate Sichuan Opera costumes, alongside a medal tray adorned with the ancient Sun Bird symbol and hibiscus floral patterns – Chengdu's city flower. The games' logo appears prominently on podiums, while medal boxes crafted through bamboo-weaving techniques recognized as intangible cultural heritage add ecological authenticity.

"These designs bridge millennia of Sichuan culture with the energy of international sports," said a ceremony coordinator, noting the tray's velvet lining incorporates World Games patterns. The August 7-17 event will mark China's first hosting of the World Games, held in the Sichuan Province capital known for its panda reserves and spicy cuisine.

With 10 days of competition expected to draw global attention, the ceremonial elements aim to create lasting visual memories while celebrating regional artistic traditions. Organizers emphasize that every detail – from costume embroidery to podium contours – underwent rigorous testing to meet international standards.
