The third China-Latin America Cultural Tour Exhibition opened this week in Lima, blending ancient traditions with modern creativity to deepen cross-cultural understanding. Hosted at the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru (PUCP), the event features over 500 Chinese books, 100+ cultural products, and live demonstrations of intangible heritage crafts like glove puppetry and paper-cutting.
Organizers emphasized the exhibition’s role in bridging civilizations. A representative from China’s State Council Information Office stated the curated selection aims to highlight China’s developmental insights and cultural richness, particularly for younger audiences. Counselor Zhao Xiaoming of the Chinese Embassy in Peru noted the 'strong foundation' for bilateral cultural cooperation, urging attendees to become 'active participants' in future exchanges.
PUCP’s Confucius Institute directors Maribel Temoche Cortez and Zhao Lihong praised the event’s interactive approach, with student-led workshops on Chinese art drawing record registrations. The exhibition runs through Friday, offering free public access to explore themes of publishing, cultural innovation, and heritage preservation.
