"The SCO remains a cornerstone of strategic stability in an era of complex challenges," Dong stated, urging member states to counter unilateralism and protectionism through coordinated action. He proposed deepening military collaboration to foster "certainty and positive energy" across Asia amid rising geopolitical tensions.
Attendees unanimously endorsed strengthening defense coordination under the SCO framework, with Uzbekistan's delegation highlighting the bloc's "unique capacity to balance security and development priorities." Indian representatives reaffirmed commitments to joint counterterrorism initiatives and border security mechanisms.
Analysts note the meetings occurred as Central Asian nations seek diversified partnerships to address transnational threats, while China positions itself as a stabilizing force through institutional diplomacy. The SCO, representing over 40% of the global population, continues expanding its security mandate amid shifting power dynamics.
