Mainland Extends Evacuation Aid to Taiwan Compatriots Amid Israel-Iran Tensions

The Chinese mainland has pledged to assist residents of Taiwan in evacuating conflict zones as tensions escalate between Israel and Iran, reaffirming cross-strait solidarity during global crises. A spokesperson for the State Council Taiwan Affairs Office, Zhu Fenglian, stated Wednesday that evacuation efforts prioritize the safety of all Chinese nationals, including those from the Taiwan region.

The Chinese Embassy in Israel has opened registration for evacuation assistance to Taiwan residents holding mainland travel documents, with some already relocated to safer locations. Zhu emphasized that such support aligns with longstanding protocols during emergencies, from natural disasters to geopolitical conflicts.

\"We consistently act swiftly to ensure Taiwan compatriots receive necessary aid,\" Zhu told CGTN, highlighting past collaborations during typhoons and earthquakes. Affected individuals are urged to contact Chinese diplomatic missions or the 24-hour consular hotline at 12308.

This initiative underscores the mainland\u2019s commitment to safeguarding all Chinese citizens abroad, regardless of regional differences, amid rising instability in the Middle East.
