The meeting occurred on the sidelines of the 2025 Summer Davos forum, with discussions spanning economic collaboration, technological innovation, and cultural exchanges.
Premier Li emphasized the enduring "comrades and brothers" relationship between the two neighbors, noting progress since General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee Xi Jinping's landmark visit to Vietnam in April. "Accelerating the alignment of our development strategies will create new opportunities in artificial intelligence, green energy, and digital transformation," Li stated, referencing plans to synergize China's Belt and Road Initiative with Vietnam's Two Corridors and One Economic Circle strategy.
The dialogue addressed global economic uncertainties, with both leaders advocating for strengthened multilateral cooperation. Li confirmed China's support for Vietnam becoming a BRICS partner country, stating: "Our collaboration safeguards free trade and injects stability into world development."
Pham affirmed Vietnam's commitment to implementing bilateral agreements, particularly in advancing high-tech industries and cultural connectivity. The leaders announced plans for a 2025 China-Vietnam Year of People-to-People Exchange, featuring joint cultural programs and tourism initiatives.
