China Urges Peaceful Dialogue in Middle East, Opposes Use of Force

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi reiterated China's commitment to resolving international disputes through dialogue during a Tuesday phone call with Turkish counterpart Hakan Fidan. The discussion focused on escalating tensions in the Middle East, particularly addressing recent military actions and the Palestinian question.

"Settling disputes by force only perpetuates cycles of conflict," Wang stated, emphasizing that China "has always stood on the side of peace." The senior diplomat criticized recent strikes against Iran conducted by Israel and the United States, describing them as violations of international law that undermine national sovereignty.

Wang called for renewed efforts to revive the Iran nuclear deal through equal dialogue, stressing that political solutions remain the "fundamental path forward." On the Palestinian issue, both ministers agreed on the urgency of implementing a two-state solution to address what Wang described as "the core challenge destabilizing the region."

Turkish Foreign Minister Fidan echoed the need for immediate action in Gaza, stating: "Israel's security depends on accepting Palestinian statehood and ending humanitarian crises." Both parties pledged to strengthen coordination through multilateral platforms to promote regional stability.
