Uzi Enters LoL Hall of Legends as China’s Esports Industry Soars

Chinese esports icon Jian Zihao, known globally as Uzi, cemented his legacy by becoming the second inductee into the League of Legends Hall of Legends during a ceremony in Shanghai. The event highlighted both personal triumph and China's growing dominance in competitive gaming.

"Uzi gave people a real sense of passion and wanting to win," said Chris Greeley, Global Head of LoL Esports, during an interview with CGTN. "His winner's spirit made you cheer for him relentlessly." The sentiment was echoed by South Korean legend Lee Sang-hyeok (Faker), who called Uzi "a true legend" during the ceremony.

Industry peers praised Uzi's distinctive approach, with veteran player Gao Diping (Gogoing) describing him as "an exceptionally pure competitor" known for aggressive tactics. Uzi himself shared insights on perseverance: "When challenges feel insurmountable, reconnect with your original spark. That's how dreams become reality."

The accolades coincide with explosive industry growth revealed in the 2024 China Esports Industry Report. With 490 million users and $3.9 billion in revenue – 80.84% from live streaming – China's esports sector continues redefining global digital entertainment landscapes.
