The conference, hosted in the French coastal city, has attracted representatives from approximately 100 countries – a notable increase from previous sessions in New York and Lisbon. France's Ministry of Foreign Affairs highlighted the event's expanded engagement with scientists, civil society groups, and international organizations working on marine preservation.
With over 3 billion people relying on marine ecosystems for livelihoods, Estrosi stressed that cross-border cooperation aligns with both environmental imperatives and economic stability. The discussions come as Asia-Pacific nations increasingly prioritize blue economy initiatives, creating potential opportunities for sustainable investment and technological innovation.
