Czech Rider Hails Taklimakan Rally as Top Global Event

Martin Michek, a four-time European motorcycle racing champion from the Czech Republic, has declared northwest China's Taklimakan Rally among the world's premier motorsport events. The 37-year-old shared his enthusiasm during an exclusive interview with CGTN Sports Scene's Shen Xiang in the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.

"The combination of technical desert tracks and breathtaking landscapes makes this rally unique," Michek revealed, praising both the competition's challenging routes and Xinjiang's natural beauty. The veteran rider emphasized how the event's organization rivals established European races while offering distinct cultural experiences.

Beyond the racecourse, Michek engaged with local communities, sampling regional cuisine and learning about traditional Uygur customs. His experiences highlight the rally's growing role as a bridge between international sports and regional cultural exchange.
