China Backs Turkmenistan’s Economic Diversification in Strategic Talks

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi pledged support for Turkmenistan's economic diversification efforts during a high-level phone discussion with Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov this week, signaling strengthened cooperation between the two nations.

Strengthening Bilateral Ties

Wang emphasized China's commitment to maintaining stable relations with Turkmenistan, stating: "China consistently views these relations from a strategic and long-term perspective." The ministers highlighted ongoing high-level exchanges that have provided strategic guidance for joint modernization initiatives.

Shared Vision for Development

Meredov acknowledged the countries' comprehensive strategic partnership, noting collaboration across energy, infrastructure, and technology sectors. Both sides reaffirmed support for China's global development initiatives and agreed to enhance coordination in multilateral forums.

The dialogue underscores China's approach to fostering equal partnerships with Central Asian nations while advancing shared economic objectives. Analysts suggest this cooperation could create new opportunities in regional supply chain networks and sustainable energy projects.
