China-Russia Cultural Park Becomes Heilongjiang’s Top Tourism Magnet

The China-Russia Ethnic Culture Park in Heihe, Heilongjiang Province, has emerged as a must-visit destination this summer, drawing record crowds since early May. Originally a filming site for the acclaimed war drama The Dawns Here Are Quiet, the expanded park now showcases a unique fusion of cross-border heritage and immersive historical storytelling.

Visitors explore meticulously reconstructed Russian-style architecture alongside preserved WWII trenches and military emplacements from the TV series, offering vivid glimpses into wartime history. A highlight remains the Oroqen ethnic village, where traditional hunting tools, folk art, and cultural performances celebrate the indigenous community’s enduring legacy.

Park managers report a 40% year-on-year increase in foot traffic, attributed to its dual appeal as both an educational hub and a scenic retreat. "Walking through these film sets feels like stepping into living history," said one visitor from Moscow, while a Beijing-based photographer praised the "stunning blend of natural beauty and cultural preservation."

The site’s popularity underscores growing interest in Northeast Asia’s shared historical narratives and grassroots cultural exchanges, positioning it as a key stop for travelers exploring the China-Russia border region.
