Chinese Athletes Dominate Diamond League Events in Shaoxing

Chinese athletes delivered standout performances at the World Athletics Diamond League meet in Shaoxing this weekend, with Shi Yuhao and Shu Heng securing a thrilling 1-2 finish in the men's long jump. Shi clinched gold with a leap of 8.21 meters at the China Textile City Sports Center, while Shu matched his personal best of 8.18 meters for silver, continuing China's strong momentum ahead of international competitions.

Jamaican athlete Wayne Pinnock claimed bronze with 8.10 meters, rounding out a competitive podium in Saturday's event.

In related events, Paris Summer Olympics triple jump silver medalist Zhu Yaming added bronze to China's tally with a 16.92-meter effort. Despite the achievement, the 30-year-old told reporters: "There's still so much potential in me. Mentally, I feel 24 or 25 – I'll keep fighting." Meanwhile, javelin thrower Dai Qianqian broke her personal record with a 64.38-meter throw to secure silver.

The results underscore China's growing influence in track and field events as athletes prepare for upcoming international competitions. The Shaoxing meet attracted representatives from multiple countries and regions, demonstrating Asia's rising prominence in global athletics.
