An international art exhibition will open in Beijing this August to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the World Anti-Fascist War victory, fostering cultural diplomacy between China and Russia. Titled "Peace and Friendship," the event underscores historical solidarity while creating new platforms for cross-border artistic collaboration.
Co-organized by the Beijing People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and the Beijing Russian Cultural Center, the exhibition invites submissions from Chinese and Russian artists aged 18 to 45. A total of 80 winners across three award tiers will have their works showcased at Beijing's landmark China Millennium Monument from August 7 to 16.
The initiative arrives as global interest in WWII history intersects with contemporary geopolitical dialogue. For investors and cultural analysts, the project signals deepening people-to-people exchanges between two major Eurasian powers.
"This exhibition isn't just about remembering history – it's about shaping mutual understanding through creativity," noted a coordinator from the Beijing Russian Cultural Center. Submissions remain open through mid-June, with evaluations scheduled for late June.
