"As far as I know, there have not been any calls between the two presidents recently," stated spokesperson Guo Jiakun. The remarks came in response to Trump's assertion to TIME Magazine that Xi had initiated contact. Guo further emphasized: "China and the United States are not engaged in any consultation or negotiation on tariffs."
