National Museum of China Launches Global Civilization Brand

The National Museum of China (NMC) announced its pioneering 'National Exhibition' initiative, set to debut in 2025, as part of a bold effort to position itself as a global hub for cultural dialogue. The project will curate large-scale exhibitions blending Chinese artifacts with treasures from other civilizations, backed by international partnerships and cutting-edge curation.

NMC Director Li Qun stated the initiative aims to 'redefine museum diplomacy' by creating shared narratives that resonate across borders. The exhibitions will feature rare loans from institutions in over 20 countries and regions, with digital components allowing virtual access for global audiences.

Analysts note the timing coincides with China's increasing emphasis on cultural soft power. The project is expected to attract 10 million annual visitors while serving academic researchers through dedicated symposiums and open-access digital archives launching in late 2025.
