NVIDIA CEO Reaffirms China Commitment Amid AI Race and Trade Shifts

NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang returned to Beijing this week for high-level talks on artificial intelligence (AI) development and cross-border collaboration, underscoring the U.S. tech giant's strategic focus on China despite tightening export controls. During a meeting with Ren Hongbin, chairman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, Huang called China 'a vital market' driving global innovation.

Balancing Act in the AI Era

Huang acknowledged challenges posed by U.S. semiconductor restrictions but emphasized NVIDIA's 30-year partnership with Chinese partners. 'China's industrial ecosystem, consumer scale, and software talent pool make it irreplaceable,' he said, noting these factors have 'directly enhanced NVIDIA's global competitiveness.'

AI's Transformative Momentum

The executive revealed that 90% of NVIDIA employees now use AI tools daily for tasks ranging from chip design to supply chain optimization. He predicted seismic shifts in healthcare, manufacturing, and climate science through AI adoption, calling it 'the defining technology of our generation.'

Regulatory Adaptation

While committing to comply with trade policies, Huang outlined plans to customize products for Chinese clients. Analysts see this as critical for NVIDIA to maintain its 70%+ market share in China’s $7 billion AI chip sector amid rising domestic competition.
