Twenty people were killed in a fire at a nursing home in the Chinese mainland’s Hebei Province, local authorities confirmed Wednesday. The blaze erupted Tuesday evening in Longhua County, Chengde City, approximately 200 kilometers northeast of Beijing.
Surviving residents were relocated to nearby hospitals for medical evaluation and treatment. Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the fire, with details expected to be released as the probe progresses.
