Chinese Rescue Teams Conclude Mission in Myanmar

Chinese humanitarian teams wrapped up their earthquake relief operations in Myanmar this week, departing the country after weeks of coordinated disaster response efforts. The China Search and Rescue Team, China International Search and Rescue Team, and a specialized unit from the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region left Nay Pyi Taw on Wednesday aboard four Chinese Air Force transport planes.

A farewell ceremony hosted by Myanmar’s Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement Ministry highlighted the cross-border collaboration. Soe Win, vice chairman of Myanmar’s State Administration Council, personally thanked the teams, presenting a formal letter of gratitude. 'Their swift action saved lives and provided hope during our most challenging moments,' he remarked.

The mission’s success underscores deepening cooperation between Asia’s neighbors in crisis management. Chinese Embassy chargé d’affaires Cao Jing emphasized the importance of 'regional solidarity,' while Myanmar Deputy Foreign Minister U Lwin Oo acknowledged the teams’ 'professionalism and dedication.' Observers note such initiatives strengthen diplomatic ties while addressing urgent humanitarian needs.
