China Seeks Creative Designs for 15th National Winter Games

The organizing committee of China's 15th National Winter Games has launched a nationwide call for creative submissions to design the event's slogan, emblem, and mascot. Open to the public from April 1 to March 30, the initiative aims to harness diverse talent in shaping the visual identity of the 2028 games, which will be hosted by Liaoning Province.

Participants are encouraged to incorporate the event's core themes of "green," "share," "vitality," and "fusion" while reflecting Olympic values, traditional Chinese sports culture, and Liaoning's regional characteristics. Submissions must balance simplicity with memorability, according to organizers.

Winning designers will receive cash prizes of up to 50,000 yuan ($6,875) for the emblem and mascot, and 10,000 yuan ($1,375) for the slogan. Final selections will be announced by September 30.

Wang Dong, deputy chief of Liaoning's sports bureau, emphasized the province's commitment to building on Beijing's 2022 Winter Olympics legacy: "By promoting winter sports through these games, we aim to improve public fitness infrastructure and inspire broader participation across all age groups." The event aligns with China's strategy to expand winter sports engagement, leveraging Liaoning's cold-weather resources and existing athletic facilities.
