China-Africa Forum Champions Green Collaboration, Youth Engagement

In a landmark effort to advance environmental partnerships, the Chongqing Luhai International Communication Foundation convened the China-Africa Ecological Civilization Exchange Forum at Nairobi’s University of Nairobi Confucius Institute this week. The event united senior officials, diplomats, environmental experts, and academics from both continents to discuss innovative strategies for ecological conservation and sustainable development.

Alongside panel discussions, attendees explored ‘The City of Eagles’ photo exhibition, highlighting Chongqing Municipality’s green initiatives and urban biodiversity. The forum also unveiled a pioneering nature observation program aimed at empowering youth across China and Africa to collaborate on climate resilience projects, fostering cross-cultural exchanges and practical solutions.

‘This initiative underscores the shared commitment to safeguarding our planet’s future,’ remarked one Kenyan scholar during the event. Analysts note that such platforms amplify opportunities for knowledge transfer and align with broader efforts to meet global climate goals.
