China Champions Global Innovation Partnerships at Boao Forum

China is accelerating its drive for international collaboration in science and technology, emphasizing shared progress and innovation as cornerstones of global development. Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun reiterated this commitment during a press briefing on Thursday, pointing to the nation's expanding role in fostering cross-border partnerships.

Guo highlighted Vice Premier Ding Xuexiang's keynote speech at the Boao Forum for Asia (BFA) Annual Conference 2025, which outlined China's strategy to integrate cutting-edge technological innovation with industrial upgrades. "China's innovation-driven approach is unlocking new growth engines while delivering real-world benefits to its people," Guo stated, citing breakthroughs in AI, digital infrastructure, and space exploration.

Notable initiatives include the China-Japan-Republic of Korea Innovation Cooperation Center and a joint AI project with Laos. In a landmark move, China's space station is set to host its first international crew member following astronaut training agreements with Pakistan. "Openness and collaboration are key to progress," Guo emphasized, signaling Beijing's intent to promote inclusive global tech governance.

The remarks align with broader discussions at the BFA on balancing AI development with ethical frameworks and bridging digital divides across Asia. Analysts suggest these efforts could reshape regional economic dynamics, offering fresh opportunities for businesses and researchers alike.
