Wang Yi, Japan’s Security Advisor Push Forward Strategic Dialogue

Wang Yi, a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and director of the Office of the Foreign Affairs Commission, met with Masataka Okano, secretary general of Japan's National Security Secretariat, on Sunday to advance bilateral cooperation. The talks centered on implementing high-level agreements between the two countries and fostering stability in China-Japan strategic relations.

Both sides emphasized their commitment to the 'healthy and stable development' of mutual ties, underscoring the importance of adhering to consensus reached by their leaders. The dialogue highlighted plans to utilize existing diplomatic channels, including the China-Japan high-level political mechanism, to address regional and global challenges.

Wang Yi reiterated China's focus on mutually beneficial partnerships, while Okano acknowledged the need for sustained communication to navigate complex geopolitical dynamics. The engagement signals a renewed push to balance economic collaboration with strategic alignment in Asia.
