China’s Rural Revival Blooms in Yunnan: Flowers & Tech Drive Prosperity

Nestled in the foothills of Yunnan Province's Lijiang region, a quiet agricultural revolution is unfolding at the Lijiang Modern Flower Industrial Park. This state-of-the-art facility, combining cutting-edge technology with traditional horticulture, exemplifies China's push for high-quality rural development through localized strategies.

A Tech-Driven Floral Boom

The park's 85% adoption rate of integrated water-fertilizer systems and soilless cultivation has transformed flower production. 'Our intelligent greenhouses let us grow premium roses year-round,' explained a technician during President Xi Jinping's Wednesday visit. Daily harvests now soar to 400,000 stems thanks to automated climate controls and precision agriculture.

Economic Blossoms Beyond Borders

With Lijiang Airport enabling 36-hour deliveries to Beijing and Shanghai, the park has become a global exporter. Fresh-cut flowers now reach markets from Tokyo to Moscow, generating $22 million in annual revenue. Local resident Zhang Mei shared: 'My income doubled to 7,000 yuan monthly during peak seasons – this is real rural revitalization.'

Presidential Praise for Green Growth

President Xi's inspection highlighted the project's success in blending ecological protection with economic gains. 'Your model shows modern agriculture's potential to create beautiful lives,' Xi told villagers, noting the park's 300+ local jobs and 12% annual income growth rate. The initiative aligns with national goals to establish 1,000 such specialized rural industrial hubs by 2025.
