China and Kazakhstan have renewed commitments to deepen economic and diplomatic collaboration during high-level talks in Beijing this week. Chinese Vice Premier Ding Xuexiang and Kazakhstan’s First Deputy Prime Minister Roman Sklyar co-chaired the 12th Meeting of the China-Kazakhstan Cooperation Committee, emphasizing practical cooperation across multiple sectors.
Vice Premier Ding, a senior leader of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, highlighted the “exemplary model” of bilateral relations under the guidance of both nations’ heads of state. He urged accelerated implementation of joint infrastructure projects under the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), enhanced law enforcement coordination, and expanded cultural exchanges to benefit citizens of both countries.
Sklyar reaffirmed Kazakhstan’s prioritization of ties with China, pledging to advance key BRI projects and leverage bilateral mechanisms to drive “new achievements” in cooperation. The discussions focused on aligning development strategies and boosting collaboration in energy, technology, and trade.
The meeting signals growing momentum in Central Asia-China partnerships, with Kazakhstan emerging as a critical hub for Eurasian connectivity. Analysts suggest the strengthened alliance could reshape regional supply chains and energy security frameworks in 2024.
