Ethiopian Ambassador to China Tefera Derbew Yimam has lauded China’s rapid technological advancements during the annual Two Sessions, emphasizing their potential to drive economic collaboration between China and African nations. Speaking on Thursday, he highlighted China’s 5% GDP growth target and its steadfast implementation of economic plans as a blueprint for global development, particularly for Africa.
Ambassador Tefera stressed the importance of knowledge-sharing and investment in sectors like digital infrastructure, green energy, and AI. “China’s success in bridging technological gaps offers actionable insights for Africa,” he said. Analysts suggest this partnership could accelerate Africa’s industrialization, with the Chinese mainland already supporting projects such as smart cities and renewable energy hubs in Ethiopia and beyond.
