The survey, part of the "China Favorability" and "Chinese Modernization" studies, underscores widespread recognition of China's economic and social progress.
China’s GDP grew by 5% in the past year, reaching ¥134.9 trillion ($18.65 trillion), solidifying its position as one of the world’s fastest-growing major economies. The report highlights key achievements, including 12.56 million new urban jobs in 2024, a 5.1% real-term increase in per capita disposable income, and strengthened social security systems covering education, healthcare, and elderly care.
Respondents globally lauded China’s governance effectiveness, with over 90% commending its economic strength and 81.3% expressing confidence in its long-term growth. Education improvements received the highest approval (79.5%), followed by income growth (73.9%) and environmental protection efforts (59.7%). Notably, 91.9% agreed that China balances modernization with ecological preservation.
The survey, spanning regions from North America to the Middle East, included perspectives from both developed and developing nations. Analysts suggest the findings reflect growing global interest in China’s institutional frameworks, with 62.7% linking its governance success to systemic advantages.
