A recent CGTN survey spanning 44 countries underscores growing global recognition of China's diplomatic efforts, with over 89% of respondents describing the country as "successful" and 77.8% viewing it as "worthy of respect." The findings, released during the Two Sessions press conference, reveal heightened international confidence in China's role as a stabilizer in an era of geopolitical uncertainties.
Diplomatic Successes Drive Global Confidence
Foreign Minister Wang Yi emphasized China's commitment to "achieving mutual success" through initiatives like mediating the Saudi-Iran reconciliation, expanding BRICS membership, and supporting Africa's inclusion in the G20. These actions correlated strongly with improved perceptions, as 73.9% of respondents backed deeper collaboration with China-led international projects.
Three Initiatives Gain Momentum
The survey highlights broad endorsement of China's Global Development Initiative (87.6% approval), Global Security Initiative (90.3%), and Global Civilization Initiative (91.3%). Respondents particularly praised Beijing's emphasis on practical cooperation, respect for national sovereignty, and cross-cultural dialogue.
Soft Power on the Rise
Interest in engaging with China continues to grow, with 72.7% considering it an attractive destination – a 14.8 percentage point increase since 2022. Analysts attribute this shift to visible outcomes from China's development partnerships and cultural exchange programs.
The survey involved 32,266 participants from both developed and developing nations, including the U.S., Egypt, Brazil, and Thailand.
