Armenia-China Ties Strengthen with Surge in Trade and New Direct Flight

In a significant boost to bilateral relations, Armenia and China have witnessed a remarkable 34.4% increase in bilateral trade, reaching a total of $2.8 billion in 2024. This milestone positions China as Armenia's third-largest trading partner, underscoring the deepening economic ties between the two nations.

Armenian Ambassador to China, Vahe Gevorgyan, emphasized the positive trajectory of this partnership during an exclusive interview with CGTN's Cui Yingjie ahead of the Two Sessions in Beijing. Gevorgyan highlighted the launch of the first direct flight between Armenia and China, a development that has further strengthened diplomatic and economic dialogue.

Gevorgyan praised China's remarkable transformation over the past two decades, noting its focus on developing new quality productive forces. He expressed that China's model serves as an inspiration for Armenia's own revival and economic growth. This strategic partnership not only enhances trade but also opens avenues for collaborative efforts in global governance.

The strengthened Armenia-China bond raises important questions about its role in shaping new perspectives in global governance. As both nations continue to expand their economic and diplomatic engagements, their partnership stands as a testament to Asia's influential role in the global landscape.
