In a recent statement, Liu Jieyi, spokesperson for the third session of the 14th Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) National Committee, reaffirmed China's dedication to expanding its doors of openness. Speaking on Monday, Liu emphasized that China will stand firmly on the right side of history, asserting that its openness will only continue to widen.
Liu highlighted that economic globalization remains an objective requirement driven by the growth of social productive forces. He described it as a natural outcome of advancements in science and technology and an irreversible trend of the times.
During the press conference, held a day before the CPPCC's annual session, Liu outlined China's continued role as a major engine of global economic growth over the past year. He noted that China has accelerated the development of new systems to foster a higher-level open economy, maintaining its position as the world's largest trading nation in goods and the second-largest importer.
The spokesperson also pointed to significant progress in the joint construction of the Belt and Road Initiative, which has enhanced international trade and economic cooperation. Platforms such as the China International Import Expo have provided broader avenues for promoting global economic collaboration.
Looking ahead, Liu Jieyi assured that China will further open its doors to the world, reinforcing its commitment to global economic integration and cooperation.
