Liu Jieyi, spokesperson for the third session of the 14th Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) National Committee, announced on Monday that China is committed to further opening its doors to the world.
Speaking at a press conference held one day before the annual session, Liu emphasized that economic globalization is a natural outcome of advancements in science and technology and an irreversible trend of the times. He stated that China will stand firmly on the right side of history.
Over the past year, China has continued to be the largest engine driving global economic growth, developing new systems for a higher-level open economy and maintaining its position as the world's largest trading nation in goods and the second-largest importer.
The spokesperson highlighted significant progress in the joint construction of the Belt and Road Initiative and the establishment of international trade and economic cooperation platforms, such as the China International Import Expo. These efforts provide a broader platform for promoting global economic cooperation.
Liu concluded by reaffirming China's commitment to further open its doors wider to the world.
