The kick-off event of a robot dog athletics competition, the first tournament featuring robot skills hosted by China Media Group (CMG), was held on Thursday in Beijing.
Shen Haixiong, vice minister of the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and president of CMG, highlighted in his speech that the robotics industry has become a key indicator of a nation's technological innovation and advanced manufacturing capabilities.
Noting that China is now the world's largest manufacturer and user of robots, he expressed hope that the tournament would drive the development of robotics technology for the benefit of society and contribute to China's ambition of becoming a global technological powerhouse while fostering a shared future for humanity.
