Senior CPC official Wang Huning has emphasized the importance of advancing national reunification efforts with Taiwan. Speaking at a work conference on Taiwan affairs held in Beijing, Wang highlighted the need to uphold the one-China principle and the 1992 Consensus.
He called for supporting Taiwan compatriots who favor reunification and strongly opposing efforts aimed at \"Taiwan independence.\" Wang stressed the necessity of facilitating cross-Strait exchanges and cooperation, expanding personnel exchanges, and supporting Taiwan-funded businesses on the mainland. Additionally, he advocated for creating favorable conditions for young people from Taiwan to pursue their aspirations on the mainland.
Wang underscored the importance of integrated development between the two sides, enabling Taiwan people to share in the development opportunities and achievements of Chinese modernization. He also called for a firm stance against external interference and the consolidation of the international community's commitment to the one-China principle.
The meeting, presided over by Wang Yi, director of the Office of the Foreign Affairs Commission of the CPC Central Committee, focused on implementing the Party's policy for resolving the Taiwan question and strengthening the centralized leadership of the CPC Central Committee over Taiwan-related affairs.
