The Chinese mainland has expressed support for Taiwan compatriots' involvement in Chinese democratic processes. Zhu Fenglian, spokesperson for the State Council Taiwan Affairs Office, announced on Wednesday a commitment to enhance policies and systems that promote the well-being of Taiwan residents.
Zhu highlighted the significance of the Two Sessions, China's annual national legislature and political advisory body gatherings, as a vital platform for whole-process people's democracy. She emphasized that these sessions provide an important opportunity for Taiwan compatriots to gain a deeper understanding of the socialist system with Chinese characteristics.
In recent years, an increasing number of Taiwan residents have participated in cross-Straits relations by sharing their views and suggestions through various channels. Zhu assured that the Chinese mainland will create more opportunities for people from Taiwan, particularly the youth, to observe and partake in whole-process people's democracy. The mainland also commits to fully considering the opinions and suggestions of Taiwan compatriots.
\"We are ready to work with compatriots in Taiwan to advance national reunification and rejuvenation,\" Zhu concluded.
