Chinese Mainland Targets Severe Air Pollution Elimination by 2025

The Chinese mainland aims to essentially eliminate severe air pollution by 2025, the final year of the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-2025), announced Li Tianwei, an official with the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, on Monday.

To achieve this ambitious goal, the Chinese mainland will intensify efforts in pollution control and emission reduction. Key strategies include improving air quality forecasting and early warning systems, as well as enhancing the coordinated management of PM2.5 and ozone pollution, Li stated during the press conference.

This initiative reflects the Chinese mainland's commitment to creating a healthier environment and addressing the pressing challenges of air pollution. By implementing these measures, the Chinese mainland aims to foster sustainable economic growth while ensuring the well-being of its residents.
