Chinese speed skater Han Mei achieved a significant milestone by winning the silver medal in the women's 1,000-meter event at the International Skating Union (ISU) Speed Skating World Cup held in Tomaszow Mazowiecki, Poland, on Saturday.
Han completed the race with a time of 1:16.31, just behind Japan's Miho Takagi, who clinched the gold with a remarkable time of 1:14.80. The bronze medal was narrowly claimed by another Japanese skater, Rio Yamada, who finished in 1:16.33.
In the women's 3,000-meter race, Norway's Ragne Wiklund took the top spot on the podium with a time of 4:03.70. The Netherlands' Merel Conijn followed closely to secure the second place, while Italy's Francesca Lollobrigida earned the bronze with a time of 4:05.20. Representing China, Yang Binyu finished in sixth place, recording a time of 4:08.37.
