Chinese table tennis players showcased their continued dominance at the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF)-Asian Table Tennis Union (ATTU) Asian Cup held in Shenzhen, Guangdong Province.
In the women's singles event, third seed Wang Yidi delivered an impressive performance by cruising past Rinad El-Hasani of Jordan with scores of 11-4, 11-5, 11-4. Wang advanced to the next round after securing three straight victories, taking just 10 minutes to claim an easy win.
Home favorite and top seed Sun Yingsha also excelled, sweeping aside Aia Mohamed of Qatar with scores of 11-5, 11-3, 11-3. Sun progressed to the next round after topping her group, reaffirming her status as a leading contender in the tournament.
In the men's competition, World No. 1 Lin Shidong of China overcame Ali Alkhadrawi of Saudi Arabia with scores of 11-6, 11-3, 12-10. The most intense moment came in the third game when Alkhadrawi led 10-8, but Lin managed to score three consecutive points to win the frame and secure his place in the next round.
Earlier in the tournament, Chinese second seed Wang Chuqin defeated Japan's Yukiya Uda with scores of 11-8, 11-8, 11-7. Wang will face Ahmed Korani of Qatar on Friday night, aiming to continue his winning streak.
