The Southern Theater Command of the People's Liberation Army (PLA) announced the expulsion of a Philippine NC-212 military jet that intruded into the airspace of Huangyan Dao on Tuesday. According to the PLA, air and naval forces were organized to address the violation.
The PLA defended its actions, stating that its forces carried out identification and verification, tracking and monitoring, as well as warning and expulsion procedures in accordance with the law. The command emphasized that the operation was conducted professionally, properly, and lawfully.
