The Chinese mainland's navy has reaffirmed its dedication to maintaining maritime security by participating in the multinational naval exercise, Peace-2025, held in Pakistan.

Zhang Xiaogang, spokesperson for the Ministry of National Defense, announced on Friday that the involvement of the Chinese naval fleet in the exercise underscores China's commitment to collaborating with other nations in safeguarding global maritime interests.

At the invitation of the Pakistani military, the Chinese naval fleet, which included the guided-missile destroyer Baotou and the comprehensive supply ship Gaoyouhu, took part in the joint exercise from February 6 to 11.

During Peace-2025, the Chinese fleet engaged in various activities alongside other participating countries. These activities included professional communication, ship visits, and drills focused on joint anti-piracy operations, search and rescue missions, and air defense mechanisms.

Zhang emphasized that the exercise has significantly strengthened communication and cooperation between the Chinese navy and the maritime forces of other nations. This collaboration demonstrates a unified effort to enhance maritime security across international waters.

He further stated that the Chinese military is committed to actively fulfilling its international responsibilities and obligations. Through such concrete actions, China aims to contribute to global peace and stability.
