The Chinese mainland extended its heartfelt condolences to the families affected by the tragic gas explosion in Taichung, a central city in the Taiwan region.
Zhu Fenglian, spokesperson for the State Council Taiwan Affairs Office, conveyed sincere sympathy to those injured in the incident, which took place at a department store in Taichung on Thursday.
As of 11 a.m. on Friday, the gas explosion has resulted in four fatalities and left 32 individuals injured.
