‘Ne Zha 2’ Achieves Historic 10 Billion Yuan at Asian Box Office

As of 19:10 p.m. Beijing Time on February 13, the Chinese animated blockbuster \"Ne Zha 2\" grossed 10 billion yuan (around $1.37 billion US dollars), including pre-sales, marking a historic achievement as the first Asian film to enter the global box office top 17.

The highly anticipated film premiered in Australia and New Zealand with advance screenings from February 10 to 12, officially hitting cinemas in those countries on February 13.

On February 12, several Chinese moviegoers in Sydney shared their enthusiasm with Chinese media, reporting an increase in the number of screenings compared to earlier schedules, with some theaters hosting up to nine showings in a single day.

\"'Ne Zha 2' is absolutely incredible! You won't want to miss a single minute!\" exclaimed Xiaohui, a moviegoer in Sydney, speaking to Jimu News on February 11. She noted that the movie's screening schedule had been extended from the original three days to ten days.

Xiaohui added, \"The entire two-hour running time is packed with excitement. Whether it's one-on-one combat or large-scale battle scenes, every moment is filled with detail. The action sequences and special effects are phenomenal!\" She observed that almost no one left the theater during the screening.

Beyond Australia and New Zealand, \"Ne Zha 2\" opened in Fiji, Papua New Guinea, Singapore, Malaysia, Egypt, South Africa, Pakistan, Japan, and South Korea on February 13.
