As large parts of the Chinese mainland remain under the grip of a severe cold wave, central and eastern regions are set to experience their lowest temperatures of the season. Local authorities have taken swift action to safeguard public safety and ensure daily supplies are maintained.
The National Meteorological Center has renewed a blue alert for the cold wave and a yellow alert for strong winds on Friday. The cold wave is expected to sweep across the Chinese mainland from Friday to Saturday, leading to significant temperature drops in parts of the northwest and northern regions, the Huanghuai region (including Henan, Anhui, Jiangsu, and Shandong), most of the southern region, the Qinghai-Xizang Plateau, and western Sichuan area.
In some regions, temperatures could plummet by more than 10 degrees Celsius, prompting authorities to implement necessary safety measures.
