Inside the Ninth Asian Winter Games’ Media Hub in Harbin

The ninth Asian Winter Games have officially entered their final preparatory stages, with the Main Media Center (MMC) in Harbin, Heilongjiang Province, now fully operational. Located within the Harbin International Conference, Exhibition and Sports Center, the MMC serves as the heartbeat for sport journalists across the continent.

Greg Laffradi from CGTN Sports Scene recently toured the MMC, which comprises the Main Press Center (MPC) and the International Broadcasting Center (IBC). These facilities are equipped to support an influx of media professionals, offering essential services such as language assistance, guided tours, and convenient foreign currency exchange outlets. This ensures that journalists can focus on delivering comprehensive coverage of the Games without logistical hurdles.

Visitors to the MMC will also find the official merchandise store, featuring a variety of souvenirs, including the charming tiger mascots \"Binbin\" and \"Nini\" representing Harbin 2025. These mascots have quickly become a favorite among attendees, symbolizing the spirit and vibrancy of the Games.

The Main Press Center is a hub of activity, housing press conference rooms, an online news center, and dedicated workspaces for various media outlets. Additionally, it showcases a collection of torches from previous Asian Winter Games editions, alongside exhibitions of calligraphy and artwork themed around Harbin 2025, celebrating the cultural significance of the event.

With the opening ceremony scheduled for this Friday, the MMC is poised to play a crucial role in facilitating seamless media operations, ensuring that the excitement and achievements of the Asian Winter Games are effectively communicated to a global audience.
