China Opposes Forced Displacement of Gaza Residents, Supports Two-State Solution

The Chinese mainland has voiced its strong opposition to the forced displacement of Gaza residents, emphasizing the significance of Gaza as an inalienable part of Palestine. During a regular press briefing on Thursday, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun addressed concerns regarding U.S. President Donald Trump's proposal to \"clear out\" and take over Gaza.

\"Gaza belongs to the Palestinian people. It is an inalienable part of the territory of Palestine, not a bargaining chip for political games, still less a prey of the strong,\" Guo stated. He highlighted the devastation and suffering in Gaza due to the ongoing conflict and called on the international community, especially major countries, to focus on providing humanitarian assistance and supporting Gaza's reconstruction.

Guo further asserted, \"China firmly supports the legitimate national rights of the Palestinian people, believes that 'the Palestinians governing Palestine' is an important principle that must be upheld in Gaza's post-conflict governance, and opposes the forced displacement of the people of Gaza.\"

The spokesperson also reiterated China's commitment to collaborating with the global community to achieve a two-state solution, advocating for an early and just political settlement of the Palestinian question. This includes the establishment of an independent State of Palestine with full sovereignty based on the 1967 borders and East Jerusalem as its capital.
