Chinese President Xi Jinping has reaffirmed China’s commitment to strengthening its relationship with Pakistan, aiming to advance both nations’ modernization efforts and build a closer China-Pakistan community of shared future in the new era.
During talks with Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari in Beijing, Xi emphasized the enduring friendship between China and Pakistan, describing them as ironclad friends and all-weather strategic cooperative partners. He highlighted that this long-standing relationship, forged by previous generations of leaders, remains a valuable asset for both countries and their peoples.
Xi noted that in recent years, China and Pakistan have consistently supported each other politically, maintained close high-level exchanges, and deepened cooperation across various sectors. A key focus of this collaboration is the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), which Xi described as a prime example of robust state-to-state relations.
The Chinese President also reaffirmed China’s unwavering support for Pakistan in safeguarding its sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity. He underscored China’s commitment to assisting Pakistan in combating terrorism and pursuing a development path tailored to its national conditions.
Xi welcomed Pakistan as the first beneficiary of China’s ongoing reforms and high-level opening up, expressing readiness to enhance practical cooperation across multiple fields. He proposed the development of an \"upgraded version\" of the CPEC to further consolidate Pakistan’s development foundation and unlock its potential.
Marking the upcoming 75th anniversary of diplomatic ties between China and Pakistan, Xi called for deeper exchanges and cooperation in culture, education, and media. He emphasized the importance of passing on the China-Pakistan friendship to future generations.
