The collision occurred on Wednesday night near Reagan National Airport. The incident involved American Airlines Flight 5342, which had 60 passengers and four crew members on board, and a Black Hawk helicopter carrying three U.S. Army soldiers.
U.S. President Donald Trump announced at a press conference on Thursday that there were no survivors from the collision.
The Chinese embassy expressed deep condolences to all the victims and extended sympathy to their families. It has requested an official briefing from U.S. authorities following the identification and confirmation of the Chinese citizens involved. Additionally, the embassy has asked the U.S. side to assist the victims' families in the aftermath of the accident.
\"We will provide consular protection and assistance as needed,\" the embassy stated.
