Shenzhen and Hong Kong Collaborate to Protect Mangrove Wetlands in Greater Bay Area

In the heart of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, a collaborative conservation effort is taking place between Shenzhen and Hong Kong. The Guangdong Neilingding Futian National Nature Reserve in Shenzhen and the Mai Po Nature Reserve in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) are jointly safeguarding a vibrant expanse of mangrove wetlands.

These wetlands are crucial ecosystems that provide habitat for diverse wildlife and play a significant role in environmental health. The partnership between the two regions underscores a shared commitment to preserving natural resources and promoting ecological sustainability in the Greater Bay Area.
